INTERESTING FACTS:
A legend says that the whole population gathered to witness the start of the building of the church. The master builder, with a pick in hand, told the people to stand around the fence. He went round the circle of people three times and finally turned the first sod in front of a young maiden, Donna, of the Georgidelchev's family. Covered in tears, the girl ran away to her home. Forty days later she passed away. This legend is associated with the belief that in order for a building or a bridge to be solid and sound, a "human shadow" had to be engraved in it.
