Thracian domed tomb, village of Valche Pole

The tomb is located under Sheinovets peak near the village of Valche Pole and was discovered in the 1930s by prof. Bogdan Filov under a mound with a diameter of about 30 m and a height of approximately 6 m. It consists of a rectangular anteroom and a circular dome-shaped chamber, fully corresponding in its form to the dome-shaped chamber of the Mezek Tomb. It was dated around 4th century BC. The tomb was robbed already in antiquity and has been excavated by treasure hunters in recent years. The roof structure of the antechamber and the entrance to it are destroyed. There is an initial stage of destruction of the site under the effect of atmospheric processes. So far no conservation and restoration work has been done.
Besides this, there is evidence of two more Thracian tombs on the hill above the village, almost completely destroyed by time and treasure hunters.
